Nailed it: Subtle

I really wanted to try gel nail polish, so I put it on my Christmas list, and lo-and behold my secret Santa sister got a kit for me (along with a cute purse)!

The only thing is that my sister and I couldn't be any more different when it comes to decorating (this includes our homes, nails, and fashion, etc.)  For example: you walk in her house and bam - you're in a Martha Stewart magazine.  Shades of white or "eggshell" with one splash of color.  You walk into mine, and you might as well be in a Morrocan temple, splashes of color & pattern everywhere.  So I joke that she's too subtle.  Once she went to get her hair done in the trendy "Ombre" style, but she asked for it to be subtle.  She came home 3 hours afterwards and looked NO different in my eyes.  LOL - my eyes can't decipher subtle shades!  Had she gone blonde, I would've noticed that!

So it wasn't any surprise that she chose this shade for me.  Sally Hansen "Shell We Dance".  And it was no surprise that I had to bling it up at least a little!  I've been wearing it for a few days now, and I'm finding it surprising that the shade is growing on me............................



............................. subtlety growing on me, that is.  ;)

Nailed it: Camping Under the Stars

I don't think that I will ever be able to "just" wear a solid color again.  I'm having too much fun, resurrecting my old nail-hobby.  This is OPI's "I brake for manicures" with a top coat of a gold glitter Wet N Wild nail polish that I picked up at the drugstore and meant to use for New Years. It was the part of the Fergie collection.

Makes me want to camp under the stars.....

Halloween Nails

 

 I thought these fancy skull nail stickers were awesome and edgy and was super excited to put them on.  I didn't notice that the box said that they would only last a week.  So I figured I'd put a top coat on them for extra endurance, and I managed to ruin a few by doing that.  Luckily I had extra stickers so I just re-did them. 

I'm kind of disappointed that they started peeling within a couple of days, but honestly Halloween is only one day (even though we're celebrating it for the whole month!), so I guess it's acceptable. They're no match while blow drying my hair, and I've been wearing gloves to wash dishes all in hopes that they last 'till tomorrow.

I'm not a 3yr old!

I don't know what it is, but lately my nails have been breaking easier and my hair.... oh my hair..... I mean I never had GREAT hair, but it never gave me big problems growing up.  But now, I'm an old lady and things are going downhill!

So I started taking Biotin supplements right around the time I started my 80% clean eating diet.  It still hasn't been very long, but I feel like my nails are at least a little stronger.  And last week, I couldn't wait for my nails to grow before I bedazzled them.  I had a craving to bedazzle them NOW.  So I picked up some nail stickers from my local store.  I tried to find the most bedazzled, yet work-appropriate ones I could find.  (Does that even exist?  LOL).

My manager and a couple other ladies at work commented on my nails.  According to them, they liked them.  Or did they?  hmmmmm.  It's possible they were just being nice, but I don't care either way.

I've been "wearing" these nails for over a week now.  They're holding up well and I'm quite enjoying them.   They're the Kiss brand.

So I was working 1:1 with my manager today and she mentioned that she stopped by her local store and took a look at the nail sticker options.  She said she found some cool, textured nails that almost feel like fur.  I'm not sure what she was talking about but I thought it was something I would get on board with (what can I say, I'm more daring when it comes to nail fashion).  She said she thought about it for a second, but then decided she wasn't three years old, but it would be something great for me. 

Ouch!  Sounded like a diss, huh?  I don't care though.  I run with my pack of ruffians, the wannabe leader of which is 3 yrs old.
